You've bought all your Sandwich Wall and equipment, told everyone you know that you have started a cleaning business and now you are ready to start bidding on jobs and getting down to work. So your next step is to meet with potential clients and put together a bid for their cleaning services. But how do you know what to charge for cleaning your potential client's building?
Start off by remembering that you are in business to make a profit and earn a living. Sometimes the tendency is to price our services low in order to get our foot in the door. Pricing your services too low may mean you will end up working for very little per hour. And more importantly, will have little left over to reinvest in the growth of your company.
Anything that is fun in my life I enjoy repeating. So if I want to ensure that I will have the willpower to clean again I make sure to have fun. Sometimes, if I'm in a wacky mood I'll gather my kids around me and we will imagine we're monkeys in the jungle aiming for that coconut high up in the tree. (The bagless canister vacuum cleaner is a great tool of mine.)
Or, I'll pretend I'm the housekeeper of this New York mansion and the mistress will be mad at me if she finds a speck of dust..I have an active imagination and it usually is no big deal for me to concoct some crazy plot. My children love when I put on plays and shows and I take full advantage of that.
If we have lots of cleaning to do then I set them up to be part of the show and then I require some cleaning duty in the plot. A surgeon may be delayed, an emergency may come in, or another surgery may run longer than expected. So the first case of the day is the only one you can guarantee is going to be done in your room.
There are cleaning companies that charge more than others and have all the work they can handle and there are companies that have lower fees yet are struggling to find work! Don't sell yourself short or you will not be able to earn a living off your China Clean Room .
